Ghia and Dan are one of those couples we’ll never forget. We first met them while they were planning their Las Vegas wedding at the Perfect Wedding Guide Bridal Show at Red Rock Casino, Resort, and Spa. They had so many fun ideas for their wedding and we’re glad they found us! They’re smart, funny, and truly care for one another. You can just tell these two were meant to be together forever!
Ghia and Dan have journeyed around the west coast together, from UCLA to the Bay Area to Las Vegas. They chose to tell that story visually on their couture save the dates. The cards featured a custom map illustrating their journey. We incorporated cute icons including the UCLA logo, the Golden Gate Bridge, the Las Vegas sign, and a boat (where Dan proposed to Ghia). The visual journey was put to words on the back side of the save the dates.
The invitations were customized from our exclusive Jenn Sprinkle album, known for its trifold style. Ghia and Dan chose UCLA Bruins blue and gold as their color palette, of course. Iconic Las Vegas Strip destinations are featured on the front of the invitation, perfect for a Las Vegas wedding! The trifold invitation opens up to reveal the details of the wedding, along with a colorful Las Vegas sign.
When the guests arrived to the wedding ceremony, they received a beautiful ceremony program. While the save the dates and invitations set the tone for a fun and playful wedding, the programs were much more classic. The wedding ceremony is the most important piece of the wedding, so it was only appropriate that Ghia and Dan chose an elegant look for their vow exchange.
Back to the fun! So you know how Dan and Ghia became best friends playing ping pong, right? It was on the save the date, remember? With that in mind, they created signature cocktails for themselves. The bride’s signature cocktail was “The Backspin,” an homage to her ping pong finesse. We made a custom bar sign that was placed next to a photo of Ghia putting the backspin on Dan.
The groom’s signature cocktail was “The Smash,” an homage to his ping pong strength. Dan’s custom bar sign that was placed next to a photo of him putting the smash on Ghia.
Their tablescapes featured framed photos of the bride and groom. We created playing card table numbers in Bruin blue and gold, bringing together the Vegas and UCLA themes (menus provided by the wedding venue, JW Marriott).
Furthermore, Paper and Home designed custom place cards with the Vegas/UCLA theme. Decks of cards were wrapped with The Aquinos’ own packaging. The guests’ names were printed on the outside indicating their place at the reception table. These also doubled as favors for Ghia and Dan’s wedding guests; two birds, one stone!
The story continues with one of the most thoughtful wedding gifts we’ve ever seen (or made)! Dan contacted us secretly to create a love story booklet for his bride-to-be. The main characters are two pigeons that strikingly resemble the couple 🙂 It’s chock full of inside jokes and sweet musings written by Dan. This is so cute, unique, and special! Nice work, Dan!
But wait, there’s more! As you may know, paper is the traditional first anniversary gift. Ghia returned the paper favor 1 year later with a print quoting their first dance song, Citizen Cope’s “Somehow.” They’ll have this in their home for years to come. What a cool piece of family history for their kids to see one day! Ahem, did someone say baby announcements??? Hope to see you soon, Ghia and Dan! Kidding, kidding. 🙂
